So, starwhales, I spotted this article on miracleofmercy's facebook and thought it was worth sharing with all of you.

S6 to be Split Transmission

Hmm. Hmmmmmmmmm.

The Moff says excitedly, "it will never be more than a few months to the next Doctor Who! Easter, Autumn, Christmas!" I say, with more trepidation, "it will never be more than a couple of ( Read more... )

Hmm, I think I like this idea; it'll be nice to have more Who spread throughout the year.

If they've only split it into two blocks, it'll be more than a couple of episodes in a row - presumably we'll get six or seven episodes in Spring as usual and then six or seven in Autumn.

Personally, whilst I can see the benefits in terms of not having the long Who-drought we're currently suffering through, I'd rather they didn't. I like 13 delicious weeks of uninterrupted Doctor Who on my TV, and the gap is basically filled (for me anyway, other people will no doubt disagree!) by Merlin in the Autumn anyway. (Though DW is infinitely more brilliant, but it's silly Saturday-night TV and takes my mind of the absence of the Doctor!)

So. Good in theory, anticipate it being annoying in practise. Though no doubt next Autumn I'll be excited and delighted to have more Doctor Who on TV!

Yeah. I'm not sure if I think the potential benefits outweigh the definite sense of "augh what why." Haaa.

I'm wondering what'll happen to Merlin then by next Autumn, since it's the usual sort gap-filler during those months (I LOVE THAT SHOW TOO, I DO).

On the one hand, I do like the idea of not having to wait so long for more DW. But in general, 13 episodes is just about enough for me. Fewer will make me feel like it wasn't a proper season 'which it isn't, obviously).

But I guess it does mainly make me very interested to see what Moffat has planned. Not much use moaning about it anyway, so I'll just try to see the good side of it!

I'm so utterly used to split seasons by now that I take this news with a 'oh, well, okay.' Besides, I trust the Moff. Also, does that mean since Sherlock is coming back in Autumn of next year that they might be on around the same time? Scooooore.

I don't want to have to wait like three months half way through a season. It's bad enough having to wait a WEEK most of the time!

THIS. I hate waiting to find out what happens in two-parter stories, so a mid-season cliffhanger would drive me mad. >_<
