Ahhh, it makes sense that Qui-Gon would bring these two together.

Of course, Mace has a huge cock. How cute that Obi-Wan was afraid of it! And the "not yet" from Mace... promising future encounters. Delicious.

Was Mace's resistance to the kiss because that's too attachment-provoking, or did it have something to do with his feelings for Qui-Gon?

I think it's a little of both, re: the kiss. I think he'll be a long time getting over Qui-Gon, and leery of anything that would cause another attachment.

'Bring them together believably' was the prompt and this the story accomplished. I liked the tone of restrained command that Mace had and the fact that Obi-Wan made the first move, following the will of the Force, naturally.

I liked the idea that Qui was Mace's lover and that Obi-Wan could find some release in their grief together. It was sweet and very sad.

Uhhhhh wow. I think I need to uh, turn on the fan. Mace is almost business-like in this, but not without kindness. The bit where he turns away annoyed by Obi-Wan touching his ear lobe. Then the breath went out of him, and he had trouble thinking of anything at all. That line is just so accurate...hot. Go team slash.

Obi-Wan seems so young here, or perhaps naive would be a better word.:)

It's very plausible that grief for Qui-Gon would have drawn these two together for a sort of comfort.
