I remember somebody was talking about being born with tattoos and scars on their face a while back. I forget who it was, but lemme know if you see this.

[ooc: I have to sleep, but it's not like this is hugely time-critical. I just want them to have some face time, you know?]
[Having rushed through the rest of her shift, a side trip home and a change of clothes, Kagerou finally finds herself in front of the headquarters. Content to wait outside, she closes her eyes and reaches for Kiba's half-familiar reiatsu, not entirely unlike Toushi's in its intensity, rough-edged but more controlled.
She peers out with one eye at the sound of the door, half-proud of herself that she sensed Kiba coming before she saw him. Shaking her head a little, she goes up to him, smiling a wide, sunny smile.]
Hello! How are you? So... where would you like to go?
Re: quicklog. thing.starstruckstrayMay 26 2010, 22:46:00 UTC
[Kiba scratches the back of his neck as he looks down at Kagerou. He shouldn't have let so much time go by without seeing her in person; she'd been in his dream, along with a skinny guy with glasses and tall dark-skinned guy. That alone made her important.]
I ain't picky as far as food goes. And I've been better, but eh. [He snorts; it's his own fault everybody's pissed at him.]
How about you?
(ooc: Agreed! XD That is the most important thing.]
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 26 2010, 22:58:52 UTC
[And he's as distinctive in person--she's heard Kazahana and Toushi's descriptions, but it's still different seeing him in full daylight, face now considerably more open and relaxed than the brief, concerned glimpse in her memory.]
We could get something that can be eaten while walking? I've been indoors all day. I could use a stretch of my legs, if you don't mind!
[She kind of wants to--hold out her hand, or maybe even hug him. It feels like there's a connection of some kind, just because they have a common place of origin. She settles for walking beside him.]
I'm sorry. About the thing with the ants. Kazahana's been awfully angry at Toushi, so...
Re: quicklog. thing.starstruckstrayMay 27 2010, 22:27:24 UTC
[Something about her voice is tugging at him--yeah, it's familiar, but he feels like he's heard it kinda recently. Maybe it would come to him later.]
Me and Blood get meatbuns from the bakery sometimes. And I could use the air since I've been inside all day.
[By habit, he adjusts his longer stride so she can keep up, but she's so energetic he may not have even needed to bother. She's so damn nice, and cheerful, she puts him at ease. But at her next words, he grimaces, looking faintly guilty.]
...s'my own fault. I knew it was a dumb idea, but I couldn't talk him out of it. [shrugs] Figured if he was gonna go anyway, at least I'd have his back.
[But the whole trip had been fruitless, and they'd come back injured to boot. He spoke again, his voice trailing off into a mutter.]
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 27 2010, 22:53:42 UTC
Blood? She's the little girl from our world, right, who lives with Ghost?
Meatbuns sound fine, I haven't had any in a while.
[She clasps her hands behind her back and tries to keep a balance between watching the surroundings, watching where she's going, and watching Kiba. There's an entire new person she should know, right there.]
Mmm, if you couldn't persuade him then I'm glad you went with him. He's... [She lingers, then decides this is the right word.] He's a bit stupid sometimes, when he gets it in his head he's got to do something.
And he's not always very good about accepting other people want to protect him, too.
[A shake of her head, and she meets his eye, a smile quirking her mouth again.]
So, it's all right. You did worry me, but you all came back.
Re: quicklog. thing.starstruckstrayMay 27 2010, 23:22:18 UTC
[Kiba adjusted their direction slightly at her agreement, leading the way through the evening crowds towards the bakery. He snorted at her assessment of their friend, not having expected such a statement from her.]
Yeah, he's stubborn as all hell. [Not that Kiba had much room to talk.]
Thanks.
[He gave her a faint, genuine smile; Kagerou's easy forgiveness was nice after everyone else's reactions. With a loud sigh, he placed his hands behind his head as they walked.]
Kazahana's still mad at me, though. Think I'm just gonna have to let her punch me a few times before things get better.
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 27 2010, 23:33:58 UTC
[She'll leave further analysis of Toushi for later--if Kiba is as close with Toushi as it seems, they both already know where the problem with him lies.]
She's angry because she's worried. I sort of shouted at Toushi after he came back, too.
[His assessment earns him a puzzled look and a raised eyebrow.] Now you sound like my brother. Just about the first thing he did when he came back from the fourth floor was to offer to let me hit him. How on earth would that make me feel better?
I mean, would it make Kazahana feel better to punch you? It doesn't seem very likely to me! She has a very good heart, but also a temper, so... well, you know her better than I do.
[Kiba practically sagged at her words. Yeah, he knew she was worried, and he hated that he'd made her feel that way. For someone whose goal was to keep her happy, he was doing a pretty shitty job of it lately.]
...yeah. I know.
[He raised his eyebrows, looking mildly puzzled.]
Uh, probably? She's hit me before for pissing her off...feels pretty familiar.
[Kagerou didn't seem the type to want to hit somebody for making her worry. But guys did it all the time--offering to let someone else do it just seemed like the thing to do.]
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 28 2010, 20:58:28 UTC
[She frowned as he seemed to wilt, wondering if she had struck a sore spot she hadn't seen. The hunched shoulders didn't seem to suit him at all.]
If you say so, then I'll take your word for it. You're the expert here, anyway.
But I know she cares about you a lot. She wouldn't be that angry if she didn't. So what I'm trying to say is that... it's not the anger that is important, really, it's whats under that.
Re: quicklog. thing.starstruckstrayMay 29 2010, 21:51:44 UTC
[Never the most perceptive, Kiba didn't immediately notice her worry, continuing to look dejected.]
Yeah, you're right...I just gotta make it up to her somehow.
[After all this time never thinking he'd be good enough for it, he damn sure wasn't going to fuck up this soon. His shoulders straightened and his face firmed.]
It's my fault, so I'll fix it. [He managed a faint grin; all this serious talk was getting uncomfortable.]
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 29 2010, 22:08:30 UTC
[Her mouth turned up in a smile in immediate response; she might have worried about the split between Kazahana and Kiba and Toushi, but she hadn't meant to dampen the mood quite so much.]
Mm-hm, I'm sure you will. And I suppose feel free to... to punch Toushi for it if you need to. He started it, anyway. But I want to be close by so I can fix his jaw.
[She chuckled, shaking her head.]
All right. I feel like I know a lot about you, but then again I don't. So... tell me something? Where do you live? Alone, or with someone? How long have you been here?
[Then she snapped her mouth shut. Oh, at least give him a chance to answer, you silly.]
[His smile grew stronger at her barrage of questions; she seemed like the kind of girl who'd be afraid of his appearance, but she wasn't like that at all. He scratched the back of his neck, shrugging once more.]
Uh, I'm in section one, no roommate. And I've been here...shit, a year and a half. [He sounded surprised; it was weird thinking he'd actually been here that long--even though some had been here longer.]
quicklog. thing.weaver_girlMay 29 2010, 22:39:54 UTC
Yep, and my friend Rosalind. She moved in with us when her brother vanished. Well, first it was just me, but the house kept on feeling too big, so I'm glad they're there.
[She canted her head.] Did you--ever live with someone? A year and a half sounds an awfully long time to live all alone, although I suppose if you like your space, then that would be better.

[ooc: Okay, CAN HAS KIBA TIEMS? Quick or slowlog, something?]
Reply
[He won't be, but he'll make it up later]
[ooc: Quicklog is good! I'll be gone for a few hours in just a short time, but we can just tag as we're able. XD]
