I wish I could for once come up with something less crappy to say, but just...GUH. It's all your fault for writing something like this.

(I-I really want to give your Kakuzu a hug, whether he would appreciate it or not. He's so...I don't know, full of emotion and especially sadness. ;;_;;)

Annn. <3 What fabulousness! As twisted and dark and bloody as these two should always be together. I love how well you capture the apparent ambiguousness about Kakuzu, how it's hard to know what he's thinking... it kind of feels like even he isn't entirely sure what to do with himself here, or what he really believes. Like he'd like to be a different person but doesn't realize it... something like that. This is so great. <3 <3 <3

I'm so happy you liked it! Kakuzu was hard to write this time, although usually it's Hidan who evades me. I didn't know whether to make Kakuzu more eager to 'kill' Hidan, or to have him be reluctant. So it kinda went screwy. But it seems like the mess of words made some sense so YAY!

...Uh, I'm so sorry I haven't commented sooner, but the last two weeks were pretty hectic for me, so I neglected LJ completely and only just now I'm trying to catch up -_-.

But to the point. The fic was brilliant (as usual &hearts). The flow of words was at times just amazing. And I'm really impressed how well you handled the violence scene - it was perfect &hearts

Some time ago (ok, I guess THIS is where I start to digress -_-') I've read senri's KakuHidan fic "Knots" (it was AWEsome in every sense of the word *_*) and I've been thinking recently how different Kakuzu and Hidan are in your and in her fics, and yet despite all the differences, how convincing are both the interpretations. I'm really starting to think it's not such a bad thing that they were rather "fodder" characters, whose the only role was to show the growth and development of others (mostly Naruto and Shikamaru). But the fact that their characters were merely roughly sketched leaves the readers a lot of freedom of interpretation, and that can bring (as in your and senri's ( ... )

Hidan and his immortality are actually very disturbing to me, when I really think about it. It's some sort of hell, or purgatory, but he derives ecstasy from it which is frightening and fascinating. He is inhuman, I think much more so than Kakuzu. Kakuzu is just such a sad character to me-hiding himself with his attitude, his clothing, his money. To tell you the truth, I've kind of lost Kishimoto's characters and turned them into something of my own, but I hope they haven't lost their original purpose.

I hope this was what you had in mind when we talked about this idea!

I never expected it would be so... disturbing and so moving at the same time! And actually I didn't know what your Hidan and Kakuzu would feel in a situation like that, so they both surprised me a bit :)
You went much further than I'd thought you would and this fic is just beyond amazing! &hearts&hearts&hearts
