I also don't expect very much out of Gunn, I was bored with Guardians of the Galaxy less than 40 minutes into the movie.

OTOH, no one thought the original series would hit like it did. It might have been a one seasoner if it hadn't been for the PMG/DS chemistry and input creating new facets in those recycled scripts. So, maybe lightening can strike again and 2 young performers will rise above above the bean counters to create something enjoyable. I just won't hold my breath.

I watched some of Hawaii 5-O reboot and actually kind of like the MacGyver reboot, but as with everything, it all depends on the actors.

"Our" Starsky and Hutch worked because of PMG and DS--not Aaron Spelling or the scripts. They made the characters their own and invested love into even the most mundane story line. Could new actors do that? Sure--but if Gunn wanted something special, he should call his new show by another name, not reworking yet another already successful series.

I agree that the 5-O reboot works - mostly because of Caan for me. but let's face it, it isn't difficult to be a better actor than Jack Lord was - wooden is being kind!
