I love Creature Comforts! I remember seeing them randomly aired in between programming on Nickelodeon back in the day. My favorite was the lion sitting on the tree talking about the differences b/w zoo environment and Brazil.

Soooo Geordies sound like a cross b/w Irish & Scottish, but not quite as pretty? (at least I think they're pretty... from a linguistic perspective)

There's definitely a Scottish element, because we're on the Borders. A lot of Geordie words have Norwegian origins, apparently, because this part of the country was a Viking stronghold for a long time.

Sting is from Wallsend (where I live), the Knopfler brothers from Dire Straits are from Newcastle, Alex Kapranos grew up in South Shields, which is about 4 miles from here and Neil Tennant is from North Shields.
