Okay, on the maths; if there's an x squared term in the equation, it's a parabola. If it's just an x term, without any squared, it's a straight line. ^^
And I keep forgetting you're a debater. One of these days we need to set up an online debate on something, just for the hell of it, and since I could use the practice. What format do your debates take anyway?
Yus, I figured that one out yesterday. I tend to forget this, however.
Heheh, that would be awesome. Uhhhhhh we've got two prepared debates (it's the second one we're having issues with right now), one limited preparation, one impromptu. Three speakers and a leader's reply either side, speeches between four and six minutes I believe. Gee, that made sense -_-
If you got any other maths questions then, just ask, as I have been cursed with doing the bloody subject for far too long, even into Uni, and while it sucks BIG TIME I can generally remember most of the 'important' parts.
We've got a different system; two teams of two on either side, the last speaker just summating. Usually you're allowed to offer points to the other side during their speeches, except during the first and last minute, and speeches are either five or seven minutes, depending on the debate, although 7 is usually reserved for tournament finals, or the Mace tournament which is a pain in the ass.
You reading the Alex Quartet again reminds me of my re-reading Anne of Green Gables. I'm older than her and the same age and not so much younger. So, that was a fairly tenuous link ...
Hey, are you using the recent incident in which Irene van Dyk's manager tried to get lots of money for a contract (or, at least, that's the way it's being portrayed by the Dominion Post) in your debate? *curious*
Er, I could probably help with the maths tutoring, but online tutoring just isn't very effective, is it? Oh well, I'm sure you'll find a local who can sort it out for you.
Love and lust is a subject that sells very well, even if the romance genre is littered with savage in-fighting.
Hm, no, don't think so, seeing as we're trying to prove Olympic ideals haven't been destroyed by professionalism...we were looking at that but couldn't really see the relevance.
[will come back for the rest of the comment, honestly]
Guess what? Guesswhatguesswhatguesswhat??? We had a MEETING today. To which Aysser turned up. Apparently yesterday she was being held hostage by the scary nun who used to be the principal, 'cause she's in the Religious Questions team for O'shea. And we are to write speeches over the weekend. And we have RESEARCH, brilliant research that I am currently reading. AND TACTICS!!!! *am not nearly as secrewed-feeling (don't take that the wrong way now...) as I was yesterday* /rant
