When I planted my beans and squash, it was already June. The abundance of rain in March and April, combined with unseasonably cold weather, had delayed all of my gardening. So I was just happy to get something out of them -- and while I only got a handful of squash, I got enough green beans and Italian beans that I actually lost some of them before

Does "squash" here mean something like zucchini? I had the impression that most of the things I call "squash" are fall/winter crops.
