Anyone up for paint-chat fun?

Also, Pokémon is class. I (sadly, literally) screamed when I encountered my first Mareep.
And then BAAAAAAAAAAWED every single time one of the wild ones used growl because

"Meep meeeep!"
MY HEART.

I keep talking to my new Merrik constantly. I swear. He keeps hugging me, and bouncing around, and being happy, and every ( Read more... )

Me? KG.
Honestly. I learnt KG in school, and my parents use KG, and metres when they talk to me. My mom uses feet sometimes, which is why I know my height in feet, and inches, but other than that, they, especially my father, always uses metric with me. I never, ever learnt about feet, and pounds, and stuff in school.
And our scales, and measuring cylindars, idek... I just always use grams, and mililitres out of habit.

Maybe it's because I was so science- minded in school, I have no idea. But really, apart from miles, the whole imperial measuring system simply doesn't compute with me. Yards, gallons, pints, all of that malarkey is something that I just don't understand very well, and have never really needed to.

Until Pokémon.
Which for some reason, is entirely in imperial. B'|

I know, but I don't get why the British English versions have lbs and feet, because half of us below the age of about 30 have no idea what they even are.

But then again, I think that maybe half of us do, I dunno.

Maybe it makes sense, somewhere.

Because they are lazy. If they did that then I would rage and demand it be like that in Canada.

JESS, YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON I KNOW THAT DOESN'T UNDERSTAND lbs/POUNDS STONES AND INCHES.

SRSLY.

while we are at it - 1 foot = 12 inches = 30cm.

1 foot= 30 cm is the one thing that I do know, because that's why rulers were 30cm.

But I really don't understand why it's so strange. If I was never taught it in school, why would I need to understand it? =T

Because enough people use it, that you're having to ASK what they are. That's why.

1 kg = 2.2 lbs (LOL way to go self)

Strange that they didn't fix that for the EU version.
