Music ideas?

Apr 14, 2014 18:02

Hello people,

I want to make a Riley vid for Intelligence focusing on her being a strong woman doing her job as a protector. There's this feminist convention asking for vids and I kinda think I'd like to make this for it.

But I can't think of music. Any ideas would be very welcome. Please.
There's no right or wrong.
xx

Ooo, that's awesome! I'd love to see that, Riley is awesomesauce! :D

Hm, music ideas... Here are a few from kinda all over the place, style-wise! ;)

"One Girl Revolution" by Superchic(k)
"Woman King" by Iron & Wine
"Warrior" by Foxes

Not a lot of help, sorry, but maybe it'll spark something, who knows? :D Good luck with it, hon! ♥♥♥

Ooh I really like "warrior" by Foxes, but I can't seem to buy it on the Australian iTunes or Coles Music. Do you have a copy? Not sure if it'll work, but I love the lyrics for this. (You can PM or email me if you do. Cos this post is all public and stuff.) I can rip it off the youtube version otherwise. :)

A vidding question for you.

So in episode 1x6 of Intelligence at about 24:10, Riley tackles Gabriel to the ground and out of harms way and they have this little exchange something like:

G: "Do you know how emasculating it is when you tackle me like that?"
R: "Are you saying you feel like a girl?"
G: "That's not what I'm saying!"
R: "Because you look pretty today."

Well there's a bit in the song (warriors) at about 1:20 where there's a music interlude and I am trying to make that quote fit. Amazingly, considering the scene with all the gunfire, there's no issue with background noise, but neither of them enunciate clearly, so I'm worried people won't hear the quote. Especially as in theory it'd be for an audience at a convention.

But I can't put words on the screen, because it's too many words in too little time.

Do you think it'd be better to (a) hope they can hear it, (b) just forget about it, or (c) put just a few keywords up or something else? Any thoughts?

I haven't vidded in aaaages... well except for ... )

Hee, I love that scene! :D ;) But ugh, I hate it when you've got the perfect audio but there's something that keeps it from being heard clearly. :S

Hm, after you've done all you can to make the audio as easy to understand as possible (yay for there being no issue with background noise, I haaaaaate it when you have a perfect audio clip that's totally drowned out by the background noise :( ) and turned the music down as best you can underneath it... I'd probably ask for some opinions on whether it's understandable. If people tell you no, then you'll have to go with putting up some keywords to help get the point across if anybody can't understand (especially considering it'll be for a convention).

Hope that it will turn out well for you, hon! :D And yay for vidding again! (Will be checking out TGETVE4 ASAP! :D ) ♥♥♥
