Is there a corner of Teenwolf fandom out there that is gen.. or even just not Styles/Derek?
Just curious. I am always amazed how some fandoms get taken over by a single pairing.

Off to watch the latest ep.

What interested me the most in S1 was Scott and Stiles' friendship. Stiles' goofiness. Scott's bewilderment and fear. I liked Derek being mysterious and in the background. The Scott/Allison relationship was lame enough to make me eyeroll, so I never went there.

These days, it's another case of, "Wow, this isn't the show I started watching 2 years ago." I can't tell you what the S3 premiere was actually ABOUT. But I see on TWoP that a lot of people thought 3.02 was really good, so I'll check that out. For me... really SO not interested in an hour of guys running around with shirts off, minus any semblance of a storyline. But I'm picky that way. :)

ETA: It's not only the fandom that's gotten taken over by certain pairings, or a particular atmosphere - the whole Scott/Allison thing got shoved right out the door. Jackson/Lydia never made sense, but that's gone now too. Feels like the writers/directors/actors are really focused on the slash, or potential slash. (Or the gay male audience.) Oh, I don't have an issue with there being a gay character/relationships - the TV industry does need to be more inclusive in that sense. What kind of made me frown during 3.01 was a feeling of "Story? We don't need no stinkin' story - let's just have everybody run around shirtless, and no one will care if there's a plot!" (Then, too... I think I'm a tad bit older than you are, and most of these guys are waaaaay too young for me to even ogle, so I get to feeling a little... awkward.)

The moment I remember was the two new guys. Twins? I started thinking, "Can they act? Are they actual people, or just more eye candy?"

But it could well be that I was in a non-receptive mood. There's a ton of stuff going on in RL for me, and it's got me feeling a little frayed. Not the best frame of mind to be tuning in to a new season of anything.

Fic? Unfortunately, I don't think so. I'm pretty much a ficcing monogamist, so my writerly brain is focused on SPN. But if I do come across any TW gen, I'll let you know!

Yeah, I had the same reaction to the twins. So far they are only eye-candy (for some reason they needed to clarify that one is gay, one straight) and I suspect they will remain that way. For eye-candy I mostly enjoy Derek... and Alison's Dad even. But I figure the actors for the other characters (like Scott) are old enough that I can perv a little and not feel guilty. I'm only just into my 30's though. :p

I plan to wait until nearly all the Teen Wolf episodes are out, so I can watch them(online).

I do that with some shows, like Game of Thrones, where I lose track if I can't watch it all at once. :)
