What's in a name? Bates

Does anyone have a favourite name for the Bates character. I need a first name for the fic that I'm writing, but I can't remember any of the ones other people have used. Please do tell, because I'm not a big fan and I'll likely give him a name you'll all hate. *grins

You do not like Bates? I kinda like him, he's not really open minded but he's doing his job well enough and I think Atlanris needs guys like him ;) And i always had a thing for characters everyone hates (except for Kavanagh)
Anyway a first name? hum... Norman? lol Lucian could be cool, or Frank maybe? If I find something better I'll tell you. Boris is ugly and doesn't really suits him I think...

He was in a Tru Calling episode? Season 1 or 2? Season 2 is currently aired here, so that would be great!

Oh I don't really hate him. His character is rather good really, in that it's very believable. There was something he did at one point which turned me off him, but now I can't even remember why, so I guess disliking him is silly really. I'm not making him a bad character at all in my fic.
I do have a soft spot for kavanagh, because he's too fun!

Oh and I was kidding about Boris! :p

Loooool ^^ Boris Bates may be ugly but at least it's funny... But I don't know how anyone in your story could take him seriously with a name like that ;)

_wwsd_ made it after it we were joking about my PhD goals and stuff and she was saying she'd spur me on happily. Then I was laughing about next thing she'll have icons with chocolate or Rodney when i achieve something and whips and chains when I fail. She only made the former thank goodness. :p
It's fully sharable too, she posted it in her journal. :D

I read a fic that actually called him Norman Bates!! Agreeing with kyokoaegis I could picture him as a 'Frank'...

I watched the TC ep last night. If you find you don't have it, the file is great quality...no watermarks or anything and I really need to make you that DVD soon. He's the dead guy in the show that asks for help and they make you think he's a sleazy wife-battering rich guy, but of course he isn't. Oh he looks really hot! Somehow I find him much cuter when he's in casual clothes...maybe because he rolls up his shirt sleeves and you can see his arms. The black t shirt look is good too. I tell you that man is growing on me. :P

Also, I think I've seen Emil used as a first name for Bates, and I must say I'm rather fond of it.
