So, I've been debating whether to do this for a while but since She Dreams will be ending soon, I've decided to members-lock my fics once it's finished. I'm doing this for a number of reasons: once She Dreams is finished, I won't be writing anymore Merlin fics (although I will try to finish the Colour of Destiny)- and probably

I won't be writing anymore Merlin fics

I obviously get RL business, and I admit the fandom hasn't been as fun of late. But, but... never, ever?

I won't rule out never, but I feel I've written as much as I can for the fandom? Tbh, I'm quite a fickle person and I'm actually surprised at how many fics I've spun out for Merlin, but I have got to the point where my interest in writing for it is waning. But idk, we'll see.

Well I guess I kind of get that. S1 and even S2, fanfic was a lot of "how we can get A/G together". But now they are together, so... I feel like all I can do now is future fic (which I tend of steer away from writing, for some reason - maybe because with M's IABN I feel like there's less need to?) or [modern] AU.

At least until S4 perhaps gives us new material ;)

Yeah, with them together there doesn't seem to be much to explore. And ships tend to grab me when they're all angsty and unpredictable. But I'm content with everything that happened to them in s3... s4 might steer in a completely different direction though, so yeah, like you say, maybe new material. And I'm also the same- future fics aren't really my thing. IDK why! There's a lot to explore with modern AUs, but I always find them hard to write.

It's heartbreaking to read that you're retiring from writing Merlin fic because your stories are always so wonderful, but RL comes first. *smishes* Thank you for giving so much to the fandom. We've been incredibly lucky. ♥

Thanks so much, bb!!!! I might write the odd one-shot, but I doubt any more than that. I think canon is doing pretty well atm wrg to A/G, and I feel like I've contributed as much as I could.
