These are both gorgeous and emotive and understated - I love the palette, and oh god, wee!Sam's face. Wonderful work.

Thank you! I'm glad the palette worked out. Quite a few layers of colour and blending went into correcting the original palette I had painted with, that ended up not quite dark enough for the mood I wanted.
