Ok, ok. I'm stopping now. I swear.

So I made another one. I KNOW. Stop Mattie. Pretend you have a life. Whatever. After this I really can't mess with videos anymore for a while because I really do have to type up that story for the contest thingy I entered. Plus I need new clips, as I am reusing the same ones and it's getting a bit old (hope it's not too terribly noticable...)

Hi there, I found your vid through dw_fanvids and though I'm not exactly an expert myself, I know what I like - good storytelling, good timing and imagery, and your vid scores 10 in all three categories. It's really adorable; I liked the clips of tardis at the beginning and the end, it gave the vid kind of closed compositon. Amazingly enough, you manage mostly to avoid the talky face; and it's quite an achievement to find clips of 10 where he doesn't move his mouth ;)

As for finding/converting wmv files - well, what software do you use? If you're on windows, Windows Movie Maker can turn your avis into wmvs, though you'll lose some quality (but that's the way I do it and nobody's complained - about quality at least - so far:P); there's also loads of free software that's let you do this, like VirtualDub; vidding community has loads of useful tips and tutorials.

And don't stop vidding, please! You've got a knack for it and there's never enough good whovids around :)

well first of all, thank you so much!! I'm really new at making videos and not really sure what I'm doing. I just try to go by what I like so it's awesome if that's working out. lol. Too much talking is one of the things I tried to avoid because I know by watching others that it can kind of slow the video down... although I'm determined to figure out how they have the music and voices at parts at the same time and do that at least a little. :)

I'm using Windows Movie Maker, and most of my clips I downloaded at doctorwhoweb.net and then cut them up. Someone mentioned there was a way to convert dvds to wmv, but I don't have the slightest idea how to do that. Mostly I'm just learning as I go. Is that what the vitualdub thing does?

Sorry for all the stupid questions but I'm so thankful for your comments and all the help!

My pleasure. And your questions are not stupid, they're completely legitimate. I was in your shoes just half a year ago and now I realize how many mistakes and frustrations I could've avoided if only I asked some more questions ( ... )

oh thank you so much for the links! I'm hoping to work on that this weekend, getting everything installed/downloaded and figuring it out.

one last question: does the dvd shrink thing work on copyrighted dvds, or do I need to download them on divx? Because I had a free trial for one kind of program like that but it wouldn't work for copyrighted dvds.
