When I was talking about Rent, I forgot to mention that, in addition to Rapp and Pascal, the rest of the cast was really amazing as well. Tamyra Grey (Gray?) from the 1st season of American Idol played Mimi. I was worried about it, because usually pop singers aren't good at singing stuff that wasn't written specifically for them, but she nailed ( Read more... )

Very cool about Tyra Banks being there.

I was amazed by Tamyra as well. I thought she added a lot to Mimi. One of the friends I went with actually said that this was the first time she's seen the show that she didn't Out Tonight.

There was a CMU alum in the cast when I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't even in CFA and I love seeing CMU people in shows. :)

Yeah, Telly. He was there when I saw it too. He seemed so much younger and more adorable than the rest of the cast! I didn't know him personally (he was a senior when I was a freshman), but I saw him in the drama school's production of Company and he really was great. Nobody that I was really friends with has gone anywhere, but a lot of people that I knew incidentally or that friends of mine were good friends with have done really well (Megan Hilty in Wicked and Gaius Charles in Friday Night Lights, and a girl named Pilar who was in the tour of Chicago that I saw a while ago). It's always exciting ( ... )

I loved the Angel that we saw--probably the same guy. I felt like he ad libbed a thing here and there. *Something* gave the whole cast the giggle fits during La Vie Boheme, but I'm not sure if it was him. I also loved Tamyra. :)
