It's really too bad more people don't hold on to furniture until it's on its last legs. While I do love a new sofa (especially one that's terribly comfortable), I just hate tossing something that's still perfectly usable.

Our futon would never have died. We gave it to my brother-in-law when he moved to Austin. We actually bought it used from a friend. That thing is going to be around for a long, long time.
