My dad's a computer nerd and he will tell you Apple (he's worked with both and now has an Apple laptop). Quality wise, I think it is the best (especially for graphics).
Go Apple. You won't regret it (although you might if you go Windows). It's not that Windows is bad, it's just that Apple is that much better.
I'm a mac convert of now almost 7 years. I've never had a mac crash. The video-editing software available is AWESOME and native to the platform. And adobe products really are much more intuitive on the mac. All of your MS office docs will open on MS office for mac. Plus the awesomest word processor, Scrivener, is also native to the mac. And cheap.
Macs are plug and play. You'll be able to hook up to wifi, printers etc without any effort of any kinds.
If you have more questions, I'll happily answer. ;)
So will I have issues transferring other stuff? My PSD stuff will probably not change right? Or any other photo stuff? I'm mainly worried, indeed, about my office stuff, and the vids...I mean is it easy to find codecs etc for the mac? What about the video player? I love WMP and it is easy for me...but Itunes is probably the switch for that right?
And how sturdy is it? This laptop for example fell on the train tracks(from my bike) twice while in a loose bag...:P Nothing was broke...at the time...
Also what Macbook would you advice me to get? Seeing as I do a lot of graphics/video edting and website making for school but I still want it to be easy enough to travel with(the laptop I currently have is almost 8 pounds so not really light)
Ok; that sounds good...and yeah it freaked me out at the time...I'm still surprised how it survived me so far :P (including all the traveling I did)
Oh prob. stupid question, but is the keyboard loud or not? When I type with this one it is pretty loud...at least loud enough for my parents to hear me tying while on skype... And is the camera for skype good?
I know I can probably look this all up or go to a store to ask, but I prefer it to hear from people I know. :)

For heavy media, and MBP would be your best bet
I have a simple macbook and find it quite sturdy, though I might freak if I dropped it unpadded!
