So, I disappeared from the intrawebz for 1-2 weeks. This is because I discovered the Raised by Wolves series by W. A. Hoffman. I knew someone had recommended the series to me at some point but couldn't remember the context. Just now, I see that back in August 2009 Heathen on our ICoS forum had mentioned it-- she said:
