This is another anime I planned to watch one episode of, and found myself watching the whole thing at once. Rather than starting with a picture, let me introduce you to its freaking awesome opening credits:

I love that song, and the opening itself is so dark and somehow sexy... which is somehow both appropriate and inappropriate, given the setting

I enjoyed this anime. I have a pretty high tolerance for gore in anime, apparently.

lol! Me too, apparently, because I didn't mind the gore at all in this (although the punishment game with Crow makes me cringe every time -_-)

Did you end up reading the manga? The anime moves some things around so the manga's a bit more coherent, and also goes much further and starts answering some of the questions about the history of different characters.

I rarely read manga, even for shows I like. I just don't have enough time. Staying active in LJ is hard enough, now that I have to go into work every day again.

I am reading one manga: Cesare. I love history, and this manga is totally gen. I like not having romance in stories.

I haven't read Cesare but there was a historical manga I read within the last couple of years about royalty in Europe. I only got 4 hours of sleep last night so unfortunately right now, the name of the manga or any of the people involved is eluding me. But it was surprisingly pretty good.
