No, that was helpful! Thank you! Especially with the coffee-drinker part because frankly I never have a clue. I've never liked coffee so I don't know what it is coffee-likers would like.
After I posted this I discovered that luckyvitamin.com has started selling teas which is excitingsauce for me because they have really competitive (and sometimes downright ridiculous) prices on their items-- I order my vitamin supplements through them now (except for the few items that are a tiny bit cheaper on Amazon). The first time I ordered through them, everything came surprisingly fast and well packaged. So I'm hoping that continues.
Anyway I was excited to see they have a lot of different brands that I haven't even tried yet so I have some Tazo, Mighty Leaf, and Numi Organic variety packs on the way... they may end up sucking but at least now if I order tea I can keep the stuff I love to myself and all the stuff I don't like I can put in the community room OHOHO~
If you get that Zhena's chocolate chai will you tell me what you think? I was REALLY tempted but I didn't want to spend too much.. also I think I may not like it because it mentioned chicory and licorice in the description so I thought it may have a strong taste toward that. I'm not sure.
I think we'd determined that you usually prefer the opposite type of chai I do? (As far as the main tastes of the ingredients)
Oh I've never heard of Kusmi... are they usually tea bags or loose leaf? Do you have any recommendations for a type to get from them?
Thanks for the other feedback!
Also I could ask my colleagues but I think they'll all just say no and it's not important enough. I may ask my boss if we can take money out of this one fund I just thought of, though... we may not be able to but he may be willing to. I guess we'll see.
Oh i'm a big tea drinker, but i've never heard of those brands you mentioned. :3 The Wissotzky tea seems great tho! It's expensive....well, high price for good quality? Haha.
1. I don't buy in bulks tho, just the little box. 2. I drink a variation of teas; Japanese tea, Chai, Chinese tea and English tea. For English tea, i love Lipton tea, the original (i don't really fancy flavoured ones, they're alright, but i guess i just like the original more), Earl Grey, Boh Tea(Black tea. My mother's a coffee drinker and she likes this one because it's ~thick. I like it too:D). Oh! I havent tried this Adagio tea, but it has really good reviews and asjksdfghjkj looking at their site makes me want to buy them NOW. ;w; 3.I'm not realy sure, i usually get them from my local supermarkets, i don't buy them online :C 4.Boh tea i guess? :D
:D LOLOL not sure if it's strong strong enough for your tastes tho! XD But it's much better than some teabags that loses their taste after once or twice?
I'm with both of you... Adagio... omg, how am I ever going to get off this site without spending a bajillion dollars? It's so prettyyyy *_*
Also, thanks for the Boh tea rec seki! I hadn't heard of that. Plus the design of it XD haha it's so cute... little dude is a teabag, haha... Does boh mean anything or is it just a name? (I'm just curious because it looks like it has quotes around the name of it or something and I didn't know if there was a reason behind the drawing the teabag as a guy other than just as a branding design choice)
Have you talked to whoever orders supplies in your office? I know the coffee we have is from a special bulk supplier, so the supply order person may get a catalog or something for bulk teas that would be cheaper than what's available to the consumer.
I <3 Numi Mate Lemon Green & Tazo Zen.
Also last night I had an amazing Earl Gray vanilla latte. I think it changed my life.
We do have a supplier but the problem is 1) there's no budget for this, and 2) the supplier we have is basically Office Max or Office Depot or something. I tried looking at teas through them before and they have crappy choices. Also, the cost of going through them is far higher than going through a place like Sam's Club or even online. Which is really sad...
There's the possibility I could MAYBE get a bit of money for it one time but since they'd probably overcharge us I'd rather use the money for something else.
Ooh, Earl Grey vanilla latte... where did you have this? Did you make it at home? I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Earl Grey but I don't know if I just haven't had the right brand yet. The vanilla latte part sounds intriguing though.
I wish I could help with the bulk assortment thing. I was going to say that I like the Republic of Tea teas (http://www.republicoftea.com/), but that may simply be because their Good Hope Vanilla red tea is my favorite tea ever. XD I couldn't find much in the way of assortments there though. (I didn't shop around, I just looked at the website. XD) The one's I did find were on the expensive side with less bags than the ones you listed though.
As for the last one, I'm a huge coffee drinker, but I think it will depend on why your coffee drinkers drink it. I like the taste personally. If they drink it for a pick-me-up, Black tea would work I guess since it has the most caffeine. I don't like the taste of it though :\
I like all the lighter ones, White, Green and Rooibos. This might not be the case for most coffee drinkers though, in which case this paragraph probably wasn't too helpful. XD
Thank you! I forgot about Republic of Tea... I don't know how I managed to o_O
Also, thank you for your take on tea for coffee drinkers! That's very helpful! Because I really am no good at figuring out tastes between coffee and what tea would be preferred-- since honestly, coffee just tastes like variations of bitter water to me. That seems to be the case regardless of what brand or how expensive it is. So it's hard for me to know what sort of taste would equate for a coffee drinker, and I wouldn't have thought of white, green or rooibos.
Well, to be fair, none of those teas actually have similar tastes to coffee. They're much more mellow. I just really hate how Black Tea tastes. XD (For a long time I just thought I didn't like any tea! I was missing out!)
What about one the ones with chocolate in it? I saw a few while wandering around that site, so I guess it exists. I haven't tasted any chocolate tea, but chocolate without too much milk/sugar has a rather bitter flavor a lot like coffee (you're not wrong, it does often taste like bitter water of varying strengths/flavours I just like bitter things. XD)
I've had a few chocolate teas actually... I'm not a huge fan of them but I also don't dislike them... I think someone who likes things more bitter, like you, would probably like them. The reason I'm not a huge fan is if I'm going to have something chocolate, I like it to be super sweet... so I have a skewed sense when it comes to all that, haha.
What I've found, if you ever do try any chocolate teas, is that most of them taste best with some milk added. It's not really that it's too bitter without it but it seems too thin somehow-- which again may be more due to my predilection for things like hot chocolate and the like.
One of the ones I like the most so far of the kinds I've tried is the Peppermint Chocolate from the Republic of Tea. I still choose other teas before that one but it's not bad.
Also, for reference for you to calibrate your tastes to mine, straight black tea is actually my favorite tea XD I seem to not love flavored tea... it seems that I like straight black, straight green, or jasmine the most.
