Catherine sighed in frustration as she walked out of the interview room. Despite the suspect’s smooth talking and clever lawyer, she was certain that he was guilty of the murder that she was investigating. She knew that his alibi was a blatant lie, even if it did check out. It wouldn’t be the first time that a suspect had a tight alibi that fell apart under scrutiny. However, she had one slight problem, Catherine’s interpretation of the evidence collaborated the suspect’s protestation of innocence. A murderer was going to walk because the evidence to lock him in prison either hadn’t been discovered and collected yet, or it had somehow been lost. It was the one thing about her job that Catherine resented: letting the guilty walk away free.
