Notes: Written for fanfic100 for prompt #97 (writers’ choice). Set during “Who Are You?” (BTVS Season Four.) What if Faith had managed to leave Sunnydale?
Part Two - Looking Over Her Shoulder
The Mayor had provided her with everything that she would need to live her new life: money, the proper identification papers, and even a new body. All that the brunette had needed to do was get her new body and escape Sunnydale. A task that had proved far too easy for her to believe. It had been child’s play to escape Sunnydale and part of her was worried about that. It had been too easy. Faith couldn’t help but look over her shoulder once she had made it to her final destination. She kept expecting Buffy and her precious little Scoobies to show up, or the Council or even Angel, someone to show up to force her to return her new body back to its rightful owner. But no one showed up and it didn’t seem to really matter that Buffy Summers just disappeared off the face of the earth. Faith knew that the Council, with their resources and magic, could find her if they really wanted to, and it worried her that they didn’t seem concerned. It seemed that the Council, Buffy and Giles didn’t want to find her, but she still looked over her shoulder waiting for the inevitable day when she would open her door or look and see someone from her past demanding retribution for what she had done and for what she had stolen.
