After Oz had left her, Willow had found solace in assisting Giles in research, especially since Buffy and Xander were both happily in relationships. It wasn’t her best friends’ fault that she was alone while they weren’t. She knew that her two friends would be there for her if she needed them, but she was tired of the long looks and never-ending questions of how was she. At least when she was with Giles, she could be free of the constant reminders of her breakup with Oz. The former librarian never asked her about Oz, instead he focused on her goals for the future and about the research that they were doing. It seemed natural for them to grow closer together through the shared late nights of research. Sometimes she would fall asleep on his couch and the night before had been one of those nights where she had done that. As she slowly stretched her muscles, her pale yellow top rode up and she glanced over at Giles unawares of the expanse of pale skin she was showing. The innocent action took a new meaning as she saw his eyes riveted to the bare strip of skin that had been revealed. And she suddenly realized that there was more than just a friendship between herself and the Watcher. Willow smiled at him as she decided how she would let him know what he was feeling.
