I've been a fan of Tori Amos' since I was 13. I'm 30 now. She's been with me for the greater part of my life! I love her. And I love her new album, Gold Dust, where she reworks a bunch of songs spanning her whole career. LOVE

I don't know about birds, but I have experience with other animals, and have noticed that their health improves dramatically as soon as they know someone actually cares for them :)
My first horse, who was found close to death, lived until the ripe age of 35 thanks to care
