Since
dragonsinger954 shared her Arithmancy homework, I thought I'd share mine, too. Before you can see it, though, you have to know its story.
Rose Weasley had been dreading her winter holidays. Grammy Molly had been bugging her to learn Muggle knitting, and she really didn’t see the point. Because of this it was with a heavy heart that she lugged her trunk to the train station to make the trek to the Burrow.
Christmas Eve and Christmas came and went, and Rose began to think that she was going to make it through the break without having to suffer through Grammy Molly’s instructions. She began to relax, and made plans to spend the next day in front of the crackling fire translating Ancient Runes. Deep down, she knew she shouldn’t have done that.
The next morning Grammy Molly woke Rose up before the rooster even crowed! “It’s time, dear.” Grammy Molly said quietly. Rose got up slowly and shuffled her feet all the way to the lounge. She sat down beside her grandmother and saw a huge basket of different colored yarns and a variety of pointed sticks in different sizes. Almost without even realizing it she reached out and touched the yarn, surprised by how soft it felt beneath her hand. “Maybe this won’t be so bad, after all!”, Rose thought aloud. Grammy Molly smiled a small, secret smile.
A couple of hours later Rose was hooked. She had mastered casting on, knitting, and even the dreaded “purl” stitch. Grammy Molly left her to it so that she could get breakfast made for everyone else. Rose never came to eat breakfast, or lunch. A little concerned, Molly took a tray laden with food in and was surprised to find Rose sitting in the exact same position. The soft clicking of the needles filled the air. Molly quietly sat the tray down and left.
Dinner time came around, and the kitchen was chock full of Weasleys in all shapes and sizes. All except one. Molly looked at the empty seat and sighed. She scooted her chair back and stood up to go get Rose. She never expected Rose to get this involved! As she turned around she saw Rose standing in the doorway holding a beautiful purse. “Oh!” she exclaimed. “Rose, that’s just lovely! Look everyone - look at what Rose has done!!” Everyone looked at Rose’s bag, admiring her workmanship and telling her how good she did. When it came around to Hermione she studied the bag closely, and then began to laugh. Everyone got very quiet, then Ron asked “Hermione, what on earth are you on about?” Hermione looked at her clever daughter and smiled gently. Then she said “Rose, would you like to tell them what your bag shows?” Rose smiled sheepishly. “Well,” she said, “I was sitting there knitting and knitting, and I realized that I had made a Golden Rectangle, so I decided to add a Golden Spiral to it, too, and now I have a bag that shows everyone that Fibonacci is just so cool!” Hermione doubled over in her seat at the look on her family’s faces. They were all astounded! After a few moment, Mr. Weasley cleared his throat and said, “Rose, you are most decidedly your mother’s daughter.”
