Oh my, you just killed me here, but I loved it. It really broke my heart... As Mycroft did, I, too, kept hoping for Sherlock to appear. You caught the characters and their thoughts perfectly. Thank you for writing this.

Jesus, I felt my heart cracking right down the middle. It's not often that I'm screaming in my mind for someone to goddamn help him already, but...well. This just made me so beautifully sad and all I can picture is Lestrade coming to Sherlock the next day and breaking the news, and Sherlock replaying that moment over and over again where he thought he heard Mycroft's voice, but not even Sherlock can rewind time.
