It sounds kind of similar to Lovely Complex, is it?

I've seen a bit of Lovely Complex, and in terms of dynamic between the two main characters, yes, it is! :) But the general feel and how it's presented makes KnT slightly different. If I were to describe, it's like LC's more on action and KnT is more on thought. Does that make sense?

It makes total sense, it's a really good description of the series, I think now I get what sort of atmosphere there is in the anime.

one of the best shoujo anime I've watched ♥ may get draggy at times and might seriously tempt you to bang the protagonists' heads to the wall but...never fails to bring tears and made me always go "b'aww" /senseless comment

In a way, it can be very cliche. But I imagine because of the feel-goodness of it all, we write that off as a novelty.
