I was waiting at a slightly sketchy bus stop today after my shoot, and everything seemed fairly typical... toothless old men telling me that I'm "real pretty" and the like. how horrible.
when i was a kid my father used to have yelling fits
and we'd get kicked out of a lot of establishments.
i know very well the apologizing look.
i guess in that situation the best thing to do would be to just
give the kid a sympathetic smile.

it sucks to feel powerless to help in that type of situation.

Wow! This made me cry for a long time. I just can't handle the thought of that kid and what his life must be like. Why is life so unfair to so many? I can relate in some ways to growing up in a miserable situation(although a different situation, still pretty miserable) and with any luck, that boy will grow up determined to love and nurture and appreciate every moment with his children. It's kind of like a cosmic "do over" for your own childhood when you get to raise your kids.
(Pleeeeze, can't I adopt about 20 more siblings for you and Evan? You're not using your room anyway! Besides, Cecil and Sophie are lonely!)
