In October Nike unvieled the first line of Charles Barkley's commemerative Air Force Ones. There's four series in total and they will be released sequentially through the end of the year. The sneakers span his formative high school career in Leeds, Alamaba, his college days in Auburn where he won SEC player of the year in 1984, his rising fame/ ( Read more... )

Waaaaaah. I heart all of them. I could have had a list of 10 runner's up. Bitches!

What saves the 3rd from being too girly is definitely the muted grey and white. I think they're the most classic/versatile of the bunch. And I LOVE that you love the wild card. I'm just not sure if I can really rock that on the street. But still. That gold with that navy swoosh is so interesting.

If I find the first ones, I'm getting them. If not? I am seriously going to be walking every athletic shoe store w/ a notepad, lol.

Such a difficult decision! I like #2, but I also think you could rock the gold shoes.

I saw the gold shoes in person and I can so rock them! They completely moved to the #2 spot after I saw how wearable they were. Now I'm just being fickle (and cheap, lol) and biding my time.

Having worked for 7 years at a sneaker store, I can tell you that if you go into a Foot Locker or a Footaction and ask them to hold a pair for you on the release date, they should definitely do that for you. There might be a small deposit required, but we did it every time the new Jordans were released, so definitely check out that option if you have your heart set on #1.

I agree with the green sole one. It's pretty much your average Air Force One shoe. I kind of love the first honorable mention, I can't tell exactly on my screen, but is that orange? So I'm guessing that's part of the Auburn era? Or is that a purple swoosh, which would be the Suns? I have no idea!

I should have gone straight the source. ;)

The Footlocker crew was really helpful and told me that I could order any backorder with them for no extra charge. The Foot Action guy I talked to didn't seem to take me seriously. He just said they had a limited amount to offer and pretty much shoo'd me away. So fucking annoying.

You know, the first honorable mention ones are creeping up the list too. They're Auburn era. You can tell from the navy. But mostly b/c it was released along with the other highschool/college shoes.

I heart you!

I don't like any of these, heh. But if I had to choose, I would choose the one with the green. GG + Gap? I would think rapists and such would conflict with Gap's squeaky clean image. Or maybe rapists and such are becoming apple pie, what do I know.

The show treated the whole incident as ancedotal which was bizarre. The girl who he pounced on in the pilot episode - Jenny - is young and precocious and mostly STILL desperate to fit in with Chuck, Blair and the whole rich kid/popular crew. Hell, Jenny's brother is now civil with the guy.

Though, I like that the show hasn't completely forgot about the character's dark side and mean streak. I know my otp has already softened/redeemed him a bit (especially after all the requisite pining/torture/angst chuck will indeed suffer under blair, lol), but there's still elements of force, anger and control issues that have entered the picture, and I think that's important. Especially since, unlike Jenny, Blair gets to tell Chuck that he's disgusting and unworthy.

So short version? Not sure how GAP fits into it. I am interested to see if the PTA will storm their PR firm, lol.
