I'm always happy to see more unusual ships get more attention (says the woman who recs gen relentlessly because it tends to meep quietly in the corner, weeping with loneliness). :)
As for self-reccing... In over a decade participating at stargateficrec, I only saw it once. There are surely places that welcome self-recs, but it's not really appropriate here. I applaud your wisdom! ;)
I meant to get a couple more recs in this month but I guess that just means I have enough bookmarked for one more month! Could I do John Sheppard again?
"Other" isn't a category per se, so much as saying, "Go ahead and claim a category if you don't see it here." For example, "team" didn't actually exist as a category until I recced it so often as "other" than the former admins just gave up and made it official. :)
Could you consider the recs you want and see if they'd fit mostly as gen, or team, or some other regular category? If not, we'll go ahead and invent a "Drunk" one. Bring on the martinis!
(or maybe you'd rather "under the influence," so you can include drugged stories too?
I can't guarantee that they'd all be team or a specific pairing (and definitely not all gen!), so safer I think to call it "under the influence" or "drunk/drugged" - if you wanted a simpler category name.

I think I'd like to have a try and I'd like to go for one of the rarer categories: Sam/John. (And no, I won't rec my own fics :p)
