So I hear that renowned poet Elizabeth Alexander is going to be doing a poem at Mr. Obama's Inauguration. I heard one of her poems lately at a poetry recital in Second Life and I says to myself - "Self, maybe we should look into getting a book by this woman. After all, she sounds really interesting. And I bet that there's lot of them out there now

Lord forbid I try to support the poet by buying a book or two, doncha know. It just blows my mind that NO ONE has thought of putting something up about this woman while they stroke yet another pile of half-off books into the center of the aisle.

bet they've got old Rick Warren's book in the center of the store tomorrow.

oh, do NOT get me started on the merchandising crap that's out there...

frankly, if I were an American I'd be embarassed at the amount of trash out there demeaning the office of the President.

I am embarrassed and appalled by anyone co-opting the logos and slogans of Obama to make a buck.

(Except for maybe that shot glass. Tuesday deserves a toast.)

And sheesh, I have to agree with sillymagpie's emphasis on the female pronoun. Like the bookstores are not overstocking that preachers books now?
