I am soooooooo stealing that title if it isn't already taken. It's too perfect, considering writing about Tolkien was what got me to England in the first place. :D

Cathy, that book is incredible. I've sent out copies to some of my friends, and am making those within my immediate proximity read it as soon as they get the chance. It's such a fantastic thing, and definitely what lit should be about. I'm glad other people are realizing it, too. (Plus, I enjoy being a literature-discussion-generating machine! Muahaha!)

I'm so glad that your colleagues are into the book too! Mind you I can't say Im surprised that book is honestly my all time favorite book ever! ♥

Hee, thanks. And yes, picspams are imminent. :P

The Things they Carried is currently tied for first place in the Erika's Favorite Book running with Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine and Yann Martel's Life of Pi. I'd reccomend those if you haven't read them already -- they're brilliant.
