Finished the Dark Tower series.

Welp.

A few vague, non-spoilery thoughts: I actually cried during certain sections of the last book, particularly the incident that occurred on the road in Maine. Stephen King is the best at meta. I agree with King about endings in general, but couldn't stand to leave the coda unread. I actually thought it was perfect ( Read more... )

I STILL have not managed to get through these books. For months and months So. Africa was reading them to me, but we stopped. I want SO BADLY to know the ending because everyone says it's worth it.

You totally need to read through to the end. It is worth it. A few friends of mine were really put off by the ending, and so I was nervous that it was gonna fall apart at the seams like LOST did, but noooo. I can totally see why people didn't like it, but it was perfect to me.

Yeah no, people LOVE it or LOATHE it. I saw it referenced a lot during the LOST finale which had the same sort of results.
