Pike arrived on the transporter pad of the Enterprise along with Security Chief Giotto. He wondered how Kirk and company were going to take their sudden arrival, and more importantly how he was going to take not commanding the ship he loved.
"So..." He said to Giotto, "Looking forward to enforcing protocol here?"
"Oh, yes sir," he replied. Frank Giotto didn't know Captain Kirk personally, but he had heard enough about him from friends back at the academy. He already didn't like him. He knew his "type." People who ignored regulation and played by their own rules, really got under Frank's skin. He was looking forward to putting Kirk in his place.
Frank assisted Pike in exiting the transporter pad. He nodded to the engineer as they left the transporter room. "Where to, sir?" he asked the Admiral.
Frank scoffed under his breath. He wasn't convinced.
He followed Pike down the hall and to the turbo lift that would take them to the bridge. He couldn't wait to see Kirk's face when they showed up on the bridge.
Bones had tried to prepare. He'd tried so goddamn hard to organize everyone's stories, to erase the security discs-- but there'd been no time. Maybe there was still time to play with the footage, but a blotched job would do significantly more harm than good.
About a minute after the two had beamed aboard, an ensign (who had heard from Engineering, who had heard from someone in the transporter room) ran into medical to tell one of the nurses. Which was how Bones found out Admiral Pike and a security goon were on their way to the bridge.
Mother fucker.
He was in the middle of a shift, and couldn't exactly leave his post, so he called for Yeoman Rand who was currently helping him with some papers. He scribbled something on a scrap piece of paper, an old-fashioned novelty everyone thought he was insane for using. Showed what they knew-- data, even when deleted, could still be recovered. Ashes could never be put back together.
"I need you to take this to Captain Kirk. Immediately. I mean, right the fuck now, Yeoman." His tone would

Janice could tell by the way Dr, McCoy had called her that something was up. Something pretty serious. She walked over to his desk where she was handed a piece of paper to take to the Captain. She was going to ask a question, but his tone made her think twice. "Yes, sir."
Janice left sick bay and hurried down the hall to the turbo lift, ignoring those who said hello to her. That was very unlike her, but she could hear Dr. McCoy's voice in her head so she didn't stop for anything.
She entered the turbo lift and headed to the bridge. Janice let out a small gasp when the doors opened and she saw Admiral Pike and a dark hair gentleman standing there

"Captain Kirk is a good officer, a little rough around the edges still, but good."

He found it odd there was no one other than an engineer in the transporter room.
