HAPPY BIRTHDAY, shimotsuki! Thanks for inspiring us all with your Kaleidoscope stories, for bringing us together as a community in places like rt_morelove, and for being such a supportive friend and reader of others' stories. As soon as JKR announced that Sirius Black shared a birthday with you, I knew I had to write you something for the day…it was simply a question ( Read more... )

Ha ha! I got the notification that this had gone up on AO3 in my e-mail inbox this morning, and I had it to look forward to all day! I commented on AO3 (not realizing that it was here too), but, I really love this. And I think it was totally the right call to leave out the child-rearing discussion. ;) Teen!Sirius's views on that topic might be a little frightening...

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, and for the delightful fic. ♥

Hi, yay, so glad you enjoyed it! Ha, yes, this was actually meant as the "main" post, with a birthday message to you and everything, and the AO3 one was more just a mirror post because I post everything to AO3...but that doesn't matter in the least, and I'm even happier if the AO3 notice gave you something to look forward to!

One of things that made me chuckle most in writing this is that I'd set it up - at least in that initial scene - with James and Lily cast as Peter and Harriet, and Sirius as Bredon. So, yes, the child rearing discussions would have been pretty bizarre if the "child" in question was Sirius! (Though I actually kind of love that image, James and Lily as the "parents" who take Sirius in when his own family has failed him.)

I hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Oh, if this wasn't the sweetest, most charming and fun fic ever <3 Really fun build-up, and I adore the dialogue throughout the story. And I have to say, I kind of like Quigley now :) I haven't read "Talboys", but this was really fun anyway, and a wonderful birthday present :)

Awww, thank you! I'm glad this reads as a fun story even without know the source story of the plot. (And knowing or not knowing "Talboys" shouldn't matter, since it's only a few silly extra nods you'd get if you knew it.) Thanks for reading. :-)
