Heartbreaking! We see more of the Beast's memories, and we see his certainty that Remus is trying to escape when he's really only trying to find somewhere safe for the moon. And, Harry in the mirror (*sniff*).
I like the parallel with the last chapter -- this time, it's the Beast who has a dream that's startlingly prescient about something to do with Remus.
And, the eternal autumn makes sense now; I hadn't thought of Halloween. Poor Beast, trapped for so long in such terrible memories and awful guilt. :(
Yup, exactly - trapped forever at the worst moment of his life. :-(
And, yeah, the parallel dreams are us riffing on Beauty's dreams in the fairy tale, but playing around with how the "canonical" fairy tale elements map onto which of our HP characters...
[Just saw you posted a Kaleidoscope chapter and I'm looking forward to reading it! It's funny/fascinating to me to see you posting your HPB chapters at the same time that I'm also finishing up editing my own HBP chapters... I'm both a little wary of reading, just because I don't want to accidentally influence my headcanon with someone else's while I'm still writing, but of course also really intrigued to see your take!]
