Yay, you finished it! And it was well worth waiting for, because I love this.

I'm very impressed by what you've done her, how you set up the scene with the Prophet calling for some action from Albus, how there's pressure all around him to do something, and I nod and feel for Albus - and then: Were you ever in love? *shivers*

Gellert is still golden, oh, that made me ache for Albus. And this fic shows so well how terrible this must've been for Albus, and how dangerous Gellert was. So charming and beautiful and clever. Just the sort of person who could convince people and make them totally devoted - unlike Voldemort who seemed to rule more by creating fear. I'm sure Gellert did that as well, but I get the sense that he didn't need to. He's so magnetic.

When we got to the duel, I love how you included so much of them and their background. It made it just as much a duel between the two of them as persons as between the strength of their magic.

Your Albus is wonderful, and I love your take on him and Gellert.

Yay, thank you! Especially glad to know you're reading this, because of course you were the original inspiration for writing about Albus and Gellert at all!

It *is* fascinating to think about Grindelwald vs. Voldemort, ways they operate the same way and ways they're different... I'm sure there's so very much more to say about that.

This one was tough to write (and took me months, as you know!) because these are such BIG topics - the greatest wizards of the century, the greatest duel, all this backstory and the war that's going on in the background and their own personal backstory and the lore of the Elder Wand, and and and. Not to mention that neither action sequences nor writing about magic are generally my strong points! So I'm very, very glad to hear you like it. :-)

Thank you!!
