Ok, I enjoyed "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" way more than I thought I would. D picked it, but I do kind of love documentaries about bands, even if I don't listen to their music much. The main dude is just so hilariously....endearing? If you haven't seen it, "Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten" is also really good, as is "Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage".

D took out "Kingdom of Heaven" the director's cut, and it was so bad! We watched it on Saturday night. And by "watched", I mean I watched most of it and then fell asleep at 11:30....and D watched most of the rest and fell asleep a bit later.

Had you seen "Kingdom of Heaven" before? We saw it in the theatre - I didn't like it.

The only one of those I've seen is Miss Pettigrew, and yes, the book and the movie are different, especially the ending. I'd say more but don't want to spoil anyone. Both are delightful, and yes, Amy Adams was absolutely perfect. As was Frances McDormand.

And I also love Chiwetel Ejiofor, ever since I saw Kinky Boots.

I don't really like Coen Bros either. They're hit or miss for me. I did love True Grit, though.

Crazy Heart was okay. What really bothered me was the age difference. She was supposed to be a 34 year old single journalist. I'm a 34 year old single journalist, and I can't imagine sleeping with some old drunk guy. That character should have been played by someone much older.

But True Grit is a remake/retelling - there wasn't much room for them to change it up. (Which is a good thing.)

And yes, the age difference between Jean and Blake was bothersome.

Easy A is the Scarlet Letter-based movie starring someone named Emma something, right? I saw that and liked it. Much better than I expected it to be.

I have heard nothing but good things about Easy A. (It's been at the top of the Ziplist for months now - I am so excited that it's finally on its way!)

CAN WE HAVE A MOMENT PLEASE FOR THE AWESOMENESS OF STANLEY TUCCI??

I have not seen Persuasion! (Any version, I don't think - please don't unfriend!)

And I have seen Calendar Girls, but not for years. (There are men in that?)
