Author's Notes:Written in response to a prompt from karaokegal for a Jack/Owen BDSM prompt. It didn't turn out as BDSMy as I wanted, but I'm really hoping that Part 2 will fix that...

Hmm, interesting premise. I've never seen any Jack/Owen in the series, but hey it's all interpretation. And sure, maybe his douchebaggery is due to sexual frustration; I can buy that! Onward!

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting you to go anywhere near the kinkfic, so I'm feeling somehow inordinately pleased with myself that you ventured in to comment.

To be honest, the feeling I get from Owen is not so much that he has a thing for *Jack* per se, so much as that he totally needs to push against someone (anyone) stronger than he is and have them push back hard - and Jack's pretty much the only one in the team I can see doing that. Owen - at least in s1 - seems to me to need someone to keep him in line, but it's the last thing he'd admit to himself or anyone else unless he absolutely had to.

Then again, I could be totally projecting. Because, you know, as a fangirl, that might very possibly be something I do every now and then ;-)

Yeah, well, I have this shiny new icon and when I saw it I went, "I know exactly where to use this." :D

And huh, I never thought about Owen like that but now that you pointed it out I think I totally agree. He really does make an ass out of himself when he doesn't need to, and goes out of his way to make people react (often negatively), and yeah just a general attitude of "come on, I dare you." And yeah, Jack's the only one really if that's your thing. It makes me sad for Tosh, though, because that's exactly why it would never work between them. I don't think she'd push back at him and he'd just get... well, bored.

I don't think she'd push back at him and he'd just get... well, bored.Or worse yet, he'd walk all over her and totally destroy what little sense of self she had, not know why he was doing it... and hate himself for it afterwards, but not know how to act any other way. There are a number of isolated moments in s1, starting with Ghost Machine, but running right the way through, where I very strongly get the feeling that Owen may act like a pratt, and may even believe it himself, but that there's more to him. I sometimes wonder if part of the reason that he *is* such a bastard to Tosh is because he knows she's attracted to him, and without the ability to understand himself or why he does what he does, keeping her at a distance is about the closest he can come to protecting her
