I was always wondering about US neutrality during WWII, because it looked, um, 'crooked'. And I thought of American military as a bunch of douchebags at that period of time, no offense to Americans in general. Yes, I know that US had shortcomings, but to righteously decide 'Oh, Britain is doomed anyway. Let it be' is downright asshole-y.

Alfred was really desperate, wasn't he?

The US was called "neutral" at the time, but it was pretty universally known that it wasn't a true neutrality. It was commonly understood that the US had allied powers bias, but refused to join the fight. The US bent its laws for England, and meanwhile went out of its way to fuck Japan over.

The military is a strange, strange thing. In a lot of ways, it's a cesspool for conservative thought, but, at the same time, the military is where some of the US' most liberal policies came from. The military itself is incredibly socialized, which makes for hilarious irony.

As always, thank you so much for reading. :) ♥

Heh, to think that I, once, considered military (and politic) as a career choice XD;
Military is a complicated thing. Usually it goes along with politic in certain circumstances. Bah. Now, I'm glad I didn't take that particular path. Science is way more fun 8D

I'm looking forward to their progress :)

Seeing this update makes me so happy; I swear. ♥ I love how Alfred's getting worked up for the aid. :) You go, Alfred. You go.

Also, as a (metro) Detroiter, I gotta say I was way excited with the mention of Ford. ♥

Apparently swaying the Nation doesn't change public opinion.
Poor Al. Poor Arthur.
(And mental pictures running around. I have two or three projects going, but once I get them done, I can start painting.)

LMAO THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.

I had no idea how long the notes were until I posted the chapter and saw how thick the last part was and was all "... oh jfc I am going overboard with this research." I'm glad it isn't a nuisance, though I do apologize for the tl;dr

And thank you so much for reading!
