Why F-locking your fic entries is stupid (And why I'll never do it)

Lately, there's been a lot of wank regarding a certain community stealing translation work off other comms. Because of this, a certain other community in which I'm fairly active has started requesting that fanworks of all types be f-locked to that community.

Someone wants to be a click inside of a comm? Thats what it sounds like to me, and really thats just lame.

I flock in my own journal, but post all my stories to comms publicly. Sometimes it's necessary to flock in a comm, though, especially if the content is NC-17 in a all-ages comm, or per the comm's rules.

But I agree about personal writing journals; I'd never lock those^^ Te point is to get readers, and I know that I shy away from things if I have to join, too.

NC17 is about the only time I'd agree with it. (Although it hardly stops someone if they want to read it, but I digress.) But the comm's rules is exactly my point, and the reason this rant got inspired.
