Brennan drops by the Lux

He'd had a pretty enlightening conversation with Shalimar, and it bothered him that he was worried about not trusting her. He also liked to think she'd never read his mind or his emotions without his permission, but he really didn't know her. Regardless, he's promised he'd come down after his shower, and that's what he did. The place wasn't open just yet, but he, ahem, let himself in.

After a long history of living with "reformed" thieves and miscreants, and after the few stories Brennan had told her, she hadn't really been surprised that he'd been able to get in.

She looked up from the table she was working at - much nicer than sitting in the small office - and waved with a smile. She didn't know what she was doing, this relationship, and it was getting harder and harder instead of easier, but seeing him... he was a nice guy who was able to make her smile. That still counted for something, right?

"Over here."

Brennan came over, smiling. He took in all the paperwork strewn around the table in front of Rachel. And stared. And blinked. "So, have you thought about selling the place? It should pay for the medicals bills after all this headache."

"Thought about it, but..." She shrugged. "It belongs to someone else, I just don't feel right selling something that isn't mine."

She started to pile up the papers, being careful not to mix them up - now that she had them organized she was not going to let them be otherwise again. "Besides, if they ever come back..."
