I've only peripherally been following this situation, but it is indeed interesting. I enjoy your connection between the withdrawl of Blackwater (which is a kick-ass name for a mercenary company, btw) and the impending Turkish intervention. I remember readin an article (NY Times, I think) that described Dick Cheney as having privatized the job of Vice-President, so between him and Rumsfeld, there's a whole lot of private investment in the neocon movement. They should have been paying attention when Francis Fukuyama jumped ship. Rumsfeld's enduring commitment to a demonstrably false ideology is one of the things that makes me hate him so.

Naomi Klein talks about this in Shock Doctrine (search for the website, there's a few clips of her talks on there), when Rumsfeld took the step forward to absolute military privitization. Cheny was really following in Rumsfeld's footsteps. Rumsfeld himself was the innovative mind behind this chaos.

As much as I consider myself a capitalist at heart, there is a problem of incentive here. When the incentive for profit is chaos, as in privatized military, or disease, as in privatized health care, the companies are bound to have priorities and goals that create the institutional priorities that lead to further death and destruction. Its the natural conclusion...
