Your bro missed his original flight to get to the 'rents house, so he took the bus. You took the bus because you couldn't find a flight to your parents...then you rendezvoused with your bro at the 'rents house. Drove to the beach concert and got there after 2-3 days of craziness.

There was 26 hours between our departure and arrival at parent's home. And 2 hours of sleep in a car parked at some gas station involved. And a flat tire.

No need to hurry for the letter. That would defy the novelty.
