I think we are finally seeing the paradigm-shift

Oct 02, 2008 17:22

I've been waiting for it for ages already. The way we were heading was dangerous! The economy is a system that's made by fallible men, it's no eco-system. Thankfully it's finally being made clear. Of course the tax-.payers will again have to pay the mistakes made, what else is new? Just help the humans and let the system go, it didn't function, I ( Read more... )

Amen, girl!

RL is like a Fandom and the rift's getting wider and wider. Unfortunately, in SPN's case, we're obviously the ones paying the high taxes.

eep! I told you the twop forum is scary! thats why I stay away!

anyway, I used this quote way back in 2002 for a paper I wrote on capital flow regulations. it was the first thing I thought of when the shit hit the fan:

the volume of foreign exchange spot transactions had grown to well over a trillion US dollars daily, or more than 67 times the total value of the international trade in goods by 1995, or more than 40 times the value of all international trade (including "invisibles" or services). The daily foreign exchange market in 1997 was estimated at US $1250 billion. In a world economy where foreign exchange spot transactions are now worth more than 70 times the total value of international commodity trade transactions, the financial sector has become increasingly divorced from the real economy."
- Jomo Kwame Sundaram, lessons from the east asian crisis
jomo was discussing foreign exchange markets, but I believe the gist of what he was saying applies here ( ... )

I so totally agree, financial economy is a beast of its own. Not anchored t all in reality. Freedom has always to come with responsibility, which the free market can't have one it's a abstract idea!

Ye, those who rallied for total freedom should fricken pick up the tab, pay and shut up. Because letting 'business' rule the society was doomed to fail. Why do us wise chicks realize that and no the guys (mostly) steering the so called democracies of the world? huh?

Not even crazy people can stop the love for Bones. Or maybe it would, if I dared step into the fandom *g*

As long as people with power are more interested in getting more power and money and not give a damn about the average man/woman, things will never change. This whole situation just makes me sick, because I know that the upper class won't feel too much of this crisis, but the middle and lower class is bound to suffer again. I can only hope that more people will start to see that the wave of kapitalism and liberalism that has ruled the planet over the past decades needs to be replaced by a more socialistic movement that actually cares about all people and not only about money ( ... )

The moment money can't buy everything because there's nothing more to buy, that's when they will wake up. Fresh water, freh air may yet run out and no money on earth will be able to bring it back. Ha!

I'm happy paying taxes too as long as it goies to helping people and not the upper classes alone. Some people (read: corporate CEOs) make o much money these days they have lost all contact with reality.

I hope this will all change with the current crisis, I fricken pray it does! Or I'll start some kind of revolution all on my own.
