Oh God, I can soo relate to this! My psychotic calico has decided to pee on our shoes since I've made it more difficult for her to pee in our laundry. Every morning I find a puddle in our front hall >.<.
I know she's doing it on purpose, because she has no issue with pooping in her box. It's just another example of her evil.
You might need to pour some vinegar over those spots to help neutralize the urine. Your cat may try to label that futon again now that she's peed on it >.<.
You have way more patience with evil cats than I do. I hope you can find a way to get the crazy calico to behave.
Thanks for the tip about vinegar. I'd used some initially because vinegar solution is my main cleaning agent. The spots still smell pee-y, so I've doused them again. And yeah, I'm afraid the little shit will pee on those spots again. Grr.
My male cat will go outside the litter box if the litter box gets too dirty for his liking, so I have to really keep on top of that job. For some reason he also likes to go on plastic, so I have to make sure that I don't have any plastic bags lying around.
My female cat isn't as picky and always uses the litter box.
If you're cat isn't neutered yet, that could also be part of the problem.
