Red Mountain, from where Dagoth Ur spread the Blight from his ash storms. It was a disease - or rather, a set of related diseases. They break down people's organs, and make non-humanoid creatures stronger, faster, and more dangerous.

It was no natural disease. More like a curse. That's not what happened here, but it feels the same way. [Zexion is one of the few people Rilam honestly LIKES in World's End, and as a result he's not getting any of that 'shut the fuck up' attitude; it's just... relaying information.]

The area around Red Mountain was quarantined by a magical fence called the Ghostfence, to prevent blighted monsters from escaping. It at least prevented some of the damage, though ash storms of course could go over the wall.

Most of the diseases were treatable, except the Corprus version of it.
