Okay, I've done what I can for
Lothar.
I've looked at his insides and checked to make sure that anything organic in him is functioning properly.
It seems that one unusual thing about Lothar's physiology: his insides are bigger than his outsides.
Once I got under his skin (using a probe entering through his 'belly button' - not all nonhumans are into 'rectal probing', thank you very much) I found a spacial distortion device...one of the few devices I was able to recognise, out of several that are there.
Although Lothar's weight under the Murgatroid's standard 0.95G grav plating is less than 200 kilos (
Storvik claims that this slightly less-than-normal gravity is for energy efficiency and to provide a slight tactical advantage to Murgatroid crew in case we are boarded; I believe that our inebriated engineering crew simply couldn't get the grav plating to operate that well, and gave up) I had never had reason before to perform testing of his actual mass. Lothar's mass (including that which is displaced by the spacial distortion device) is closer to 2 metric tons.
Not all of his mass is guts, mind you...although clearly enough of it is guts (and other organs designed to keep his intestinal tract operating properly) to make it easy to understand his prodigious ability to absorb huge quantities of food and alcohol (and, for that matter, almost anything organic) with little ill effect. Some extra organs that are there are clearly livers (for processing and removal of poisons)...and not all of them are human livers. Nonhuman livers can process a different array of poisons, so I'm going to guess there ain't much that can hurt Lothar. There are both drug factory organs (note to self: sample and copy genetic coding for these organs) which are producing antirejection medications and pain supression peptides as well as drug factory machines acting as backups to the organs. There are various kinds of nanites in his blood, from antiBorg nanites to self-repair and strength augmentation nanites.
So, at this point, I don't know why Lothar can't (or won't) stop singing. I'm paging
Ifix to come down here and look into Lothar's guts at the machines that are in there, to see if any of them could be related to this problem. I'm also calling
Storvik, in case Ifix is his usual difficult-to-understand self, so that I can get clear answers to complex questions.
Undoubtedly there will be more information at a later time. As for now, my shift is over, and I'm going to bed.
