This is such a wonderful idea, and John's story made me get all mushy. And Rodney's earnestness. Lovely. I like that for each of them, all four, the stories they choose to tell are so reflective of their individualities as well.

Hee. I know what you mean. I'm currently working on my third SGA fic as well, so I'm still learning the characters. And my last two were both John's POV so I was inside his head, so this little thing I'm writing now is just a bit of crack to get inside Rodney's head for a change (because writing him scares me, and I'm not easily scared by these things), before I do one that's a bit less, well, crackish for him. *g* I think you did a great job with them here, and picked a fantastic ritual so that you could explore sides of everyone. That was very clever of you. ;-) And that you gave the fic more than just lightness - I could tell you'd thought about each one's story, tailoring it to them.

Ooh, your fics are all long and stuff. I'll have to try reading them later when I'm not loopy with Nyquil...

Rodney's definitely a bit harder to pin down of the two. The first fic I started writing (which has yet to be finished/published) was all about John, 'cause he's pretty easy to slip into. And of my completed fics, they are all John's POV or general-but-leaning-more-towards-John. But now I've got a bunch of Rodney fic ideas.... Which means I've got to do a bit of science-y research. But I had fun researching the theories of light for his story here (even though I only used Wikipedia), so it should hopefully work out. Good luck with yours! :)
